Reach Technology
Reach Technology, a Novanta company, helps manufacturers who must add color touch control surfaces to their products. Using Reach embedded touchscreen modules shortens time-to-market and reduces risk and development costs. Reach also insulates users from changes in LCD availability, technology, and format.
Goal
Reach Tech specializes in embedded touchscreens and part of our challenge was to outrank these very large/ established websites. However, after a very extensive battle, we were able to perform top rankings within six months.
Technical SEO
SEO Strategy
Keyword Research: The keyword research process included analysis on their desired keywords, semantic keywords, Google correlate, targeting long tail keywords, competitors keywords and the intent of searchers.
Internal Linking: Unfortunately, there was little to no internal linking done on the site. This left us stuck with poor site structure and no link equity being passed from page to page, so to combat this, we implemented a strategy where more authoritative pages linked to orphaned/less authoritative pages that had potential to do well.
Reach Tech had numerous private/internal pages that were being crawled and indexed, but we needed to block those from search engines.
To fix this, we added a disallow directive to their robots.txt file. These pages were no longer being crawled or wasting their crawl budget. In addition to adding this directive, there were numerous broken links on the site that we redirected to a custom 404 page that worked as somewhat of a lead builder.

After working with Reach on their initial SEO strategy and continued campaign, we were able to build up the Client’s online presence and get the website ranking organically on first page for all targeted keyword phrases:
